Accessing Intuition

The Alchemist

From the Tarot Illuminati Deck

Meaning:

The Instigation of Transformations

Instigating big changes; having all the necessary resources at hand; intention, energy, will, and resources focused on one intention

Looking back over the past few months, it feels like I have lived through a whirlwind – a virtual tornado, and Toto, I have a feeling that I am not in Kansas any more!

The winds started blowing a year ago with my husband’s cancer diagnosis (he is now cancer free!!), then picked up with his forced retirement (we, of course, were not financially prepared for this), and became a full blown virtual tornado four months ago when my day job was relocated and we sold our house so we could move closer to where my work is now located. Cancer, recovery, retirement, sell a house, pack up, buy a house, move, unpack – all within the last year. With everything feeling like it was happening to me, not controlled by me.

To put it mildly, this has been the most intense 12 months I have lived through – all of the ‘touchstones’, all of the certainties that had guided my life up until then had crumbled rather quickly. But….what has emerged in their place, what is still emerging, is completely surprising and totally awesome!!

Through this whirlwind of emotions and activity and change, one thing became crystal clear – the places in my life that were changing and being cracked wide open, provided both space and time for me to step away from what my life had been and to reevaluate what is important to me right here, right now.

What emerged in this space and time was a deep understanding and connection with both the Tarot and with my intuition. I became fascinated, almost obsessed, with using the Tarot and my intuition to explore what Lao Tsu meant when he said “At the centre of your being you have the answer, you know who you are and you know what you want.”

Or as Martha Beck phrased it in Finding Your Way in a Wild New World:

How the hell did I get here?

What the hell should I do now?

The more my life spun, the deeper I gazed into Tarot, the more I accessed intuition, and the calmer I became.

I finally feel that my life has stopped spinning, that the ground is as solid as it can be under my feet again. I am back in charge of creating my reality and I can fully explore How the hell did I get here? What the hell should I do now? but from the completely different, completely new perspective. This new perspective involves reading Tarot to help understand who I am and what I need to be soul-aligned, and it involves accessing my intuition and connecting with my Inner Wisdom and my Higher Self!!

What I am also really excited about is that I finally feel that I can share some of the techniques and skills that I have used these last few months, ones that have helped me find my way through this massive identity shift, that are helping me reevaluate, refocus, restructure, and re-align to a life of integrity – a life where everything is aligned to creating an authentic, heart-felt life.
