Releasing all attachments to the outcome we are trying to manifest is one of, if not the most difficult step that needs to be taken in order to become a master manifestor. And yet this is the step that most people have the greatest level of difficulty achieving. After all, the outcome we are trying to manifest is one that we want, sometimes really, really desperately want, otherwise we wouldn’t be trying to manifest it. Right?
The problem is, the harder we try, the less likely we are to succeed with manifesting the outcome we desire. The more we think about and obsess over obtaining our goals, the harder it becomes to actually achieve them.
Have you ever tried desperately to think of the person you are speaking with’s name only to have your mind go blank! The harder you try, the more frustrated you get, and the further away the person’s name is. But, the minute the person is out of your sight their name pops right into your consciousness! Or when you lose your car keys, or the remote control for the tv. Often, the harder you hunt for the item, the more frustrated you get, the less likely it is that you will find it. But stop looking for it, and there it is – hidden in plain sight!
The same can be said for being attached to wanting just about anything in life – more money, a loving relationship, to be self-employed, to be fit and healthy, a new car, a new house, a MacBook Air……..
The problem is, the more we focus on not having the object of our desire, the more we feel the lack of not having that object (and usually this involved feelings like being frustrated, angry, depressed) so the more situations reflecting how we feel (frustrated, angry, depressed) are attracted into our lives. Makes sense??
For deliberate creators, when we release all attachment to the outcome, we also release all of the negative feelings surrounding not having the object of our desire, and we open up the opportunity to better feeling thoughts. When we have better feeling thoughts and the more positive feelings that come with these thoughts, the more we attract better feeling experiences, possibly even including the object of our desire.
The funny thing about all of this is, when we start connecting with our true feelings we may find that our originally desired object is no longer of any interest to us! That we have attracted other things into our life that give us the feelings we thought our originally desired object would bring into our life. Money might not bring us the happiness that we thought it would, being self-employed might not give us the freedom we are longing for! By obsessing over the outcome of what we are trying to manifest we might, if fact, miss attracting some pretty authentic awesomeness into our lives.
Thursday’s Tips and Technique post will explore a couple of techniques that look at how we can release attachment to what we are wanting to manifest.
See you on Thursday!!
